| Rebate type | 2026 amount | When it applies |
|---|---|---|

| Partial-Home | $1,125 per ton, up to $8,500 | Heat pump supplements an existing system (integrated controls required with gas/oil/propane) |
| Basic | $250 per ton, up to $2,500 | Qualifying equipment upgrades |
| Income-based enhanced | Up to $16,000, or up to no cost through Turnkey Services | Income-eligible households |
Whole-home eligibility, in plain terms
- One whole-home rebate per account; home occupied full time in the heating season.
- "Sufficiently weatherized" means one of: built in 2000 or later; your assessment recommended less than $1,000 of weatherization; or weatherization recommended in 2013 or later has been done.
- If you don't meet the weatherization rule you may get the partial-home amount instead.
Insulation and air sealing
Mass Save advertises 75–100% off approved insulation and air sealing and no-cost targeted air sealing, for 1–4 unit homes; some designated communities get 100% off (Mass Save, Insulation & Air Sealing). Weatherization is also the best long-term defense against ice dams.
0% HEAT Loan
Up to $25,000 at 0% for eligible measures such as weatherization, heat pumps, heat pump water heaters and ENERGY STAR windows (with completed weatherization). The limit is a lifetime total per customer (Mass Save, 0% Interest Financing). Mass Save's HEAT Loan sheet describes up to an additional $25,000 when paired with an eligible heat pump project; confirm with the lender.
Steps
- Schedule a no-cost Home Energy Assessment (866-527-SAVE).
- Complete recommended weatherization.
- Get heat pump quotes; Mass Save keeps a Heat Pump Installer Network.
- Apply for the loan before work if financing; apply for the rebate after installation; complete the verification.
